I will be teaching a class in fiction and creative non-fiction at the JCC in Manhattan this fall. Below is the course description. If you are interested in taking the class, or know someone who is, please check out the JCC's website. To get to the class, please go to "JCCmanhattan.org." Click on "The Arts," "New York Writers Workshop" and then "Fiction."
Writing Our Stories: Explorations in Fiction and Nonfiction
In this workshop, we will both create stories and write what we know. Both fiction and creative nonfiction involve strong story lines, memorable characters and lively dialogue, and we will migrate between the two genres. Students are encouraged to submit short stories, portions of novels, essays and/or sections of memoirs, and may submit up to 20 pages of writing per class. They will receive written responses to their work from the instructor and other class members.
